Generous Sizing.

I purchased an extra large so I can put it over layers.
Nice thick knit really warm.
If I was going to wear a shirt and tee shirt the large would have been perfect.

I purchased an XL so I could wear it over layers.
A large would have fit over a regular shirt and tea-shirt.
All depends on your preference.
